Roermond’s cultural eye catcher is the Saint-Christoffel Cathedral from 1410, the main church of the diocese of Roermond.

Pierre Cuypers (1827-1921) is among others, the architect of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. In his home-town of Roermond has also left behind many beautiful creations. Many of his historic buildings have recently been restored and are certainly worth a visit.

In the region you will find beautiful castles, monumental properties, characteristic farmsteads and lovely water- and windmills. You can discover the rich history of these tourist attractions in many different ways.

A building with much historic value for the city of Roermond is the ECI culture factory. The ECI culture factory is established in a monumental factory building, the former Elektro Chemische Industrie. Within the culture factory you will find a pop podium, theatre hall, two cinemas, a grand cafe and an exhibition area. These areas are used for various purposes such as workshops, project days but also for various types of culture education.
